He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Dora and Hattie Lucille Curtis Mefford; his daughter Brenda Jo Mefford; his stepson Robert Lewellen; his son-in-law Jimmy Angell; his granddaughter Lindsay Angell; and his great grandchild Matthew Stoess.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Mefford; his stepchildren, Debbie Bowen (Wayne) and Kenny Lewellen (Tammy); and his siblings, Fran, Punky, Buddy, Phyllis, Jerry and Linda. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 23 great grand-children, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Down Syndrome of Louisville in Hubert's name.
