He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Harney and Louise Ritchie Duke; his wife Wanda Smith Harney; and his sister Diane Klingsmith. He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Martin, Linda Martin (Will Divine), Tommy Martin, Ronnie Martin (Kathy Benham) and Michelle Henderson (David); and his sister Geneva Goodman. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
