He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank O. Brown, Jr. and Marilyn K. Buchheit Brown. He is survived by: his wife Cheri Volz Brown; his pet Mister; and his siblings, Nancy Bowman, Pamela Johnson (Richard Caldwell), Phil (Debbie), Carol Thurston (Brian) and Steve (Becky). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in David's memory to go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Gentiva Hospice.
