He was predeceased by: his parent Ethel Mann; his granddaughter Megan Smith; and his siblings, Leo Schickel, Joe Schickel and Mary Reynolds.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Schickel; his children, Samantha Durbin (Chris), Cindy Sams (David), Becky Shannon (Matt), Jeff Schickel (Connie), Chris Schickel (Kelly), Doug Smith and Tim Smith; his grandchildren, Amber, Jeny, Jeff, Adam, Jackie, Bethany, Samantha, Michael, Tyler and Seneca; and his brother Steve Schickel. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kraft Funeral Service (2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, IN 47150). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. An entombment was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at the Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park (2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, IN 47150).
