William R. Dougherty Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William R. Dougherty of Needham, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 16, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Dougherty and Josephine Dougherty (Wright); his wife Tracy Ann Dougherty; his siblings, Marilyn Willis (Paul), Joe Dougherty (Amaryllis), Charles Burton Dougherty, Virginia Vaught (Don), Phil Dougherty (Loretta) and Don Dougherty; and his brother-in-law Tony Laker.
He is survived by: his sons, Tim Dougherty (Lynda) of Greenfield, IN and John Dougherty (Lana) of Needham, IN; his grandchildren, Amberlee Dougherty, Drew Dougherty (Kendall), A. J. Dougherty, Jake Dougherty and Kara Dougherty; his siblings, Donna Marie Copeland Laker of Greenwood, IN, Jim Dougherty of Gwynville, IN, Steve Dougherty (Elaine) of Greenwood, IN and Mary Ellen "Cricket" Smith (Bob) of Greenwood, IN; and his sister-in-law Mary Donna Dougherty (Lawson) of Shelbyville, IN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center (300 S Morton St, Franklin, IN 46131). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at the Rocklane Cemetery.
