He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Petersen and Agnes Petersen of Nebraska; his pet Sanctuary; his girlfriend Teresa Middendorf; his sister Shirley DiMercurio; his niece Kristen (Tony); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Analisa, Arabella and Carlo; his sister Linda Slattery; his daughter Kim Kaler; his grandchild Christian; his son Rick Petersen (Amy); and his grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle and Jessica of Indiana.
