He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Arthur and Dolly "Monzell" Smith (Hoover); his former wife Mary Joan Smith (Percifield); and his siblings, Forest, Fred Smith, Wilma Wilson and Brenda East.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Rains (Steve) of Cloverdale and Denise Hancock of Indianapolis; his stepchildren, Mick David of Nashville, Rick David of Terre Haute and Kimberly Moss (Michael) of Nashville; his grandchildren, Heather Hazel (Ross), Sarah Schaub (Rory), Zach Hancock (Sara), Josh Hancock, Trevor David, Mallory Moss, Brennen Moss and Matt Stargell; his great grandchildren, Emma, Elon, Jaidlynn and Kaelum; and his siblings, Thelma Keller, Lee Smith, Floyd Smith and Treva Edwards.
