He was predeceased by: his parents, James Shapland and Edythe Shapland (Greenwalt); and his siblings, Carolyn LeCount and Russell Shapland. He is survived by: his wife Sue Shapland of Nappanee; his children, Scott Shapland of Goshen, John Shapland (Connie) of Nappanee and Sally Meade (Brian) of Pierceton, IN; and his brother Steve Shapland of Elkhart. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Thompson Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home (950 N Main St, Nappanee, IN 46550). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
