He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Bontrager and Vivian Bontrager (Blosser); and his sisters-in-law, Sheryl and Sherry Bontrager. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Bontrager; his children, Steve Bontrager (Londa), Milford, Rodney Bontrager and Shelly Hartzell; his grandchildren, Gavin Philip Bontrager, Hannah and Kylie Hartzell; and his brothers, Duane Bontrager (Peggy) and Kevin Bontrager. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Run-For-the-Son Christian Motorcyclists Association.
