She is survived by: her husband Harvey DeFrees Jr. of Nappanee; her children, Philip DeFrees (Rhonda) of Muncie, IN and Elaine Howell (Charles) of Bluff City, TN; her grandchildren, Andrew DeFrees (Ashley) of Italy, Sarah Howell (Kerry Siegrist) of Nashville, TN and Michael Howell (Cheri Tinney) of Elizabethton, TN; her stepgrandson Kristopher Bilbrey of Muncie; her great grandchildren, Kane and Devyn DeFrees; and her sister Linda Hathaway of Liberty Mills, IN..

Memorial contributions in Anita's name can be given to Nappanee United Methodist Church.
