It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Steven Soeka of Munster, Indiana, born in Lansing, Illinois, who passed away on May 2, 2023, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Soeka and Catherine Soeka; and his siblings, Frank Soeka (Mary), Paul Soeka, Sandy Pelletier, Mary Cox and Jackie Reppa.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Soeka (Pool); his children, Lauren Soeka, Daniel Soeka and Brett Soeka; his siblings, Nick Soeka, Ted Soeka (Sheila), Tony Soeka (Lorna), Cathy Malkowski (Bob) and Jean Baikauskas; and his nephew Jeff Soeka (Laurie). He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
