He was predeceased by: his parents, James Matthews and Mary Ellen Matthews; and his brother Dr. Charles Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn "Kathy" Matthews; his daughters, Meghan Matthews and Morgan Sleeper (Stephen); his grandchildren, Zoe, Zachary Sleeper, Addy and Seelie Reef; and his sister-in-law Marcia Matthews. He is also survived by four nieces, and many dear friends.
