With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gianoula Raphtis of Munster, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her husband John; her parents, Konstantinos Kostaras and Efrosini Kostaras; and her siblings, Vasiliki, Tasia, George and Demetrios.
She is survived by: her daughters, Froso Marinakos (John), Tina Margeas (John), Christina Gikas (Nick), Bessie Petrov (Nick) and Kathy Vrehas (Theodore); her grandchildren, CJ Margeas (Ellen), Heidi Mairena (John), Alex Gikas (Cortney), Billy Marinakos (Viki), Nina Stasis (Angelo), George Petrov (Jaclyn), Annie Trgovich (Peter), John Petrov (Emily), Joanna Kikalos (Zachary), Jenna Gikas (Jeffery Brannick), Paul Petrov, Spero Vrehas and JT Vrehas; her great grandchildren, Johnny, Melina, George, Luke, Christina, Alexia, Margarita, Niko, Sophia, Gianna, Eleni, Mariana, Olivia, Sia and Aria; and her brothers, Apostolis Kostaras (Kiki) and Odysseus Kostaras (Eftihia). She is also survived by several brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, and many loving nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gianoula's name to Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Schererville, Indiana and to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Sioux City, Iowa.
