He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Cooper and Odell Cooper; his wife Shirley Cooper; and his son Derrick Cooper. He is survived by: his children, Carmen Sturgeon of Bloomington, Indiana, Eric Cooper of Beijing China and Michelle Cooper of Somers Point; his grandchildren, Heather Kirkpatrick, Dean Cooper of Houston and Sabrina Short of Bloomington, Indiana; and his sister Betty Stevens. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
