He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gardner Sr. and Dora Campbell; and his grandparents, Jack, Rosie Gardner, Charles and Nellie Mohler.

He is survived by: his sons, Chistopher Collins and Billy Gardner; and his siblings, Pam Chasteen (Bob), Karen Wilson and Jack Gardner (Robin). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
