He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Dowd and Rowena Dowd (Mays); and his brothers, Ronald Dowd (Patricia) and Jeffrey Dowd (Corine). He is survived by: his wife Dr. Susan Klingel-Dowd; his sons, Scott Dowd (Cathy), Edward Dowd (Sarah) and Neil Dowd (Aubrey); his grandchildren, Karissa Dowd (Mike Earley), Bailey Dowd, Cameron Dowd, Macie Dowd, Melanie Dowd and Mallory Dowd; and his brother Randy Dowd (Deb). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Meeks Mortuary and Crematory - Washington St. Chapel (415 E Washington St, Muncie, IN 47305).
