He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Franklin and Roxie Stettler (Sells); his siblings, Phyllis Norris (Jim), Phillip Franklin (Norma), Herb Franklin (Dolores), Boyd Franklin (Shari), Thomas Franklin and Beaulah Franklin; his in-laws, Richard and Dossie Herron (Davis); and his sisters-in-law, Betty Herron and Carolyn Douthitt.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Franklin (Herron); his children, Brian Franklin (Bailea) of Camden, TN, Michele Franklin of Muncie, IN and Chad Franklin of Muncie, IN; his grandchildren, Heather Franklin, Brandon Franklin (Kendra), Kristina Flowers, Bailea Guidice (Stephanie), Martina Campbell, Annastasia Franklin and Arielle Franklin; his great grandchildren, Blaine Franklin, Kynlee Franklin and Harlynne Franklin; and his pet Chewy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made the Wounded Warriors in memory of James.
