It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald E. Johnson of Muncie, Indiana, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gerald E. Johnson to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Johnson and Hazel Keeley Johnson; his spouse Shirley Darnell; and his siblings, Russell, Wilma Slagle and Barbara Ostrander.

He is survived by: his daughters, Angela Johnson and Teresa Walker (Derek); his goddaughter Kelly Dishman (David); his grandchildren, Sienna Frye, Dakota Stewart, Aubrey Grim, Jessica McDonald, Payton Walker, Kendall McDonald, Ashlee Phelps, Jade Lipscomb, Hope DeLong, Amber Dishman and Anne Suchyna; and his siblings, Danny Johnson and Janet Guerra (Ed).

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Garden View Funeral Home (10501 IN-3, Muncie, IN 47303). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In leu of flower make donations to Wounded Warriors Project, St. Jude Children's Hospital or Delaware County Humane Society.
