He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Johnson and Hazel Keeley Johnson; his spouse Shirley Darnell; and his siblings, Russell, Wilma Slagle and Barbara Ostrander.

He is survived by: his daughters, Angela Johnson and Teresa Walker (Derek); his goddaughter Kelly Dishman (David); his grandchildren, Sienna Frye, Dakota Stewart, Aubrey Grim, Jessica McDonald, Payton Walker, Kendall McDonald, Ashlee Phelps, Jade Lipscomb, Hope DeLong, Amber Dishman, Anne Suchyna and Jeremy Dishman; and his siblings, Danny Johnson and Janet Guerra (Ed).
