He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Layton, and Ida Layton, Sr. (Merrill); his siblings, Jesse, John (Geneva), Donald Layton, Jr. (Maxine), Phyllis Douglass (Robert) and Irma Schiery (Charles); his son-in-law Doug Hyde; and his brother-in-law Robert Good.
He is survived by: his wife Lora Smith; his sister Sue Good; his children, Deborah Hyde of Arkansas and Brian Layton (Sam) of Wolcott; his grandchildren, Bradley, Jacob (Amanda), Ethan (Cheyenne), Andrew (Kayla), Isaac Layton, MaKenzie Layton, Sylvia Kaspar (Seth) and Kie Hyde; and his great grandchildren, Cheyenne Layton, Jonathan, Naomi Kasper, Evangeline Smith, Clayton and Jensen.
