The memory of Jim Powers of Mount Vernon, Indiana, who passed away on November 16, 2024 at the age of 71, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Powers and Vesta Queen (Mathis); and his siblings, Cathy Powers, Ernie Powers and Arthur Queen.
He is survived by: his wife Marion Powers (Key); his children, Heather Reese (Charlie) and Jason Powers (Lucia); his grandchildren, Hunter White, Adriana, Desirae, Deshaun Reese, Stefanie, Janin and Michael Powers; his sisters, Patricia Nichols and Dorothy Bloksberg; and his siblings-in-law, James Key and Tina Grabert (Rodger). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Schneider Funeral Home (512 Main St, Mt Vernon, IN 47620). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 6:15 PM at the Elks Lodge #277 (131 E 4th St, Mt Vernon, IN 47620).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elks #277, American Legion Post #5 or the NEWLIFE Rescue & Adoption.
