He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hast and Irene Hast (Renfrow); his former wife Patricia Hast (Saltzman); his siblings, Robert Hast, Sr., John Hast and Dorothy Grisham; and his stepdaughter Myra Potts.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Martin Hast (Wilson); his children, Cindy Naab (Charlie) and Donnie Joe Hast (Kathrin); his grandchildren, Mary Ann Esker (Jason), Adam Hast, John Hast (Kennethia), Erin Hollinger (Herb) and Nathan Naab; his stepchildren, Tim Martin (Marsha) and Chris Martin (Kim); his stepgrandchildren, Chuck Naab, Justin Naab (Sheila), Katie Mayes (Nick), Todd Martin (Lindsey), Spenser, Adam Martin, Jessie Mae Wagner (Chris) and Mallory Johnson; and his sister-in-law Norma Hast. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Vernon Conservation Club.
