He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer William Sr. and Mary Marcella Gray (Hart); his siblings, Elmer W. Gray Jr., Marvin Paul Gray, Joseph E. Gray, Barbara L. Allen and Carolyn K. Myers; his parents-in-law, John and Hilda Benedict; and his siblings-in-law, Ronnie, Albert Jr., Harold Benedict, Helen Litton, Emma Lou Massengale, Mildred Adkins, Patricia Healton and Linda Massengale.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Elaine Gray (Benedict); his children, William Richard Gray (Penny) of New Castle and Melissa Marie Gray of Spokane, Washington; his grandchildren, Allison D. Gray of Mt. Summit and Robert E. Gray of New Castle; his great grandchild Isaiah Gray of Mt. Summit; his sisters, Ruby Eileen Sexton (Bob) and Ruth Elaine "Lanie" Lamb (Steve); and his siblings-in-law, Rosemary Mastin (Benedict), Agusta Lindsey (Benedict) and Donald Benedict (Carolyn). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
