He was predeceased by: his parents, Cloyd L. and Ethel Dye Sr. (Creighton); his son Bret Alan Dye; and his sisters, Miriam McCleary and Dorothy Lackey.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Dye (Shively) of Mt. Summit; his children, Blake Dye (Kim) of Fishers and Staci Dudley of Whitestown; his stepchildren, Pam Davidson (John) of New Castle and Joe Canaday (Tina) of Rensselaer; his grandchildren, Leslie Antiel (Ryan) of St. Louis, MO, Emily Dye of Fishers, Kelci Laster (Jon) of Whitestown, Bryce Dudley of Indianapolis, Dylan Dudley (Rachel Cook) of Greenville, OH, Joshua Canaday of Wichita, KS and Abby Mulligan (Charlie) of Fishers; and his great grandchildren, Adelyn, Liam, Sadie Ruth Antiel, Kayleigh, Ellie Dye, Dominic Dudley, Lucas and Olivia Mulligan.

“Dearest mary lou and family! I was so saddened to learn of your great loss, dr. Dye, whom i admired and appreciated for his medical expertise. It was he, who spoke so eloquently at my husband's funeral, which meant so much to all of us, especially my husband's father, who often commented on dr. Dye's 'tribute' to my husband!
