It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammie Burton of Morristown, Indiana, born in Columbia, Kentucky, who passed away on October 20, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Burton and Florence Burton (Pendleton); his daughters, Mildred Mae and Sandra Faye Burton; his siblings, Bobby Burton (Paula) of Greenfield, James Burton (Eugene Burton), Liz Johnson, Myrtle Sheats and Bernice Burton; and his grandson Luke Burton.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred "Helen" Stone; his sons, Darrell Burton (Pam Meredith) of Freeport and Gary Burton (Karen) of Shelbyville; his siblings, Dennis Burton (Misty) of Anderson, Iretha Lyons of Greenwood and Debbie Martin (Chris) of Fountaintown; his grandchildren, Jennifer Burton, Samuel Burton (Caroline), Angel Pattison (Ian), Emily Taylor (John), Kyle Burton and Amber Ward (Jon); his great grandchildren, Alyssa, Cameron, Lucas, Millie, Noah, Mina, Jalen and Meredith; and his great great grandchild Elliana. He is also survived by several step-brothers and step-sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
