She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry K. Carter and Anna M. Carter (Dunn); her husband Max Lyman Scott; and her siblings, Sarah M. Maynard, Harvey E. Carter, Walter D. Carter and John W. Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Roberta Temple of Mesa, Arizona and David Scott (Tara) of Morristown; her brothers, James R. Carter of Shelbyville, Ralph Lynn Carter of Shelbyville and Harry K. Carter, Jr. of Shelbyville; her grandchildren, Gregory Swerdan, Stephanie Kierstead (John), Savannah Scott, Jonathan Scott, Kaitlyn Scott, Lindsay Farmer and Timothy Newby; and her great grandchildren, Mila Kierstead, Madison Newby and Nora Newby. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
