He is survived by: his wife Judy Faye Van Winkle (Kirby); his children, Scott Van Winkle (Missy) of Nineveh and Rhea Hardwick (Kevin) of Trafalgar; his sisters-in-law, Sue Van Winkle of Morgantown and Jeannie Van Winkle of Morgantown; his grandchildren, Garrett Bunce of Edinburgh, Christian Van Winkle of Bargersville, Kylie Van Winkle of Orlando and Kirsten Van Winkle of Nineveh; his great grandchildren, Jackson and Nova; and his pet Miss Kitty.
