He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Louis and Mary Ann Olds (Bean); his children, Elvin Olds Jr. and Leona Sizemore; his brother Gerald Wayne Dodson; and the mother of his children Betty Olds (Bowling).
He is survived by: his daughters, Vicki Britton of Edinburgh, Marie Olds of Martinsville and Lora Sizemore of Edinburgh; and his sisters, Edna "Jean" Olds of Brown County and Edith Dick of Trafalgar. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces & nephews.
