It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Kay McElyea of Mooresville, Indiana, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, who passed away on December 29, 2021, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Eva Mae Thrasher and Kenneth Thrasher; and her siblings, Robert Thrasher, Connie Ray, Brenda Thrasher and Patty Barz Phyllis.

She is survived by: her husband Darrell McElyea; her siblings, Mike Thrasher (Donna), Tim Thrasher (Bridgett) and Kathy Todd; and her children, Tina Smith (Jamie) and Joshua McElyea (Vicky). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was the foundation that held her family together.
