He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Coate and Irene Coate (Hall); his grandson Joshua Coate; and his brother Larry Coate. He is survived by: his spouse Sandy Coate (Allen); his sons, Jeff Coate of Mooresville, Tom Coate (Deb) of Noblesville, Curt Coate of Mooresville and Doug Coate (Tina); and his sister Toni Smith of Indianapolis. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
