She was predeceased by: her husband Stanley Sylvester of Manitoba; and her parents, Gunner Bertelsen and Ethel Bertelsen (Brown) of Martinsville. She is survived by: her siblings, Jerry Bertelsen (Kit) of Florida and Jean Fisher (Wayne) of Mooresville; her children, Shelly Long (Micky) of Alpharetta, GA, Alan Messmer (Melissa) and Steve Messmer (Terisa) of Martinsville; her grandsons, Darrell Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, Joshua Messmer, Caleb Messmer and Seth Messmer; and her nieces, Teresa Wamsley, Amy Skinner of Plainfield and Tammy Cooper of Mooresville. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
