He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Jerry; his sister Mary Bell Hines; and his pets, Jessie and Titan. He is survived by: his son Joe; his wife Linda L. Stark-Zupan of Mooresville; his sister Shirley Brown of Whiteland; and his pet Angel. He is also survived by 9 children, 11 grandchildren.
