He is survived by: his wife Cathy Upton (Ross); his children, Angela Ferguson, John Upton Jr., Tamara Deal, Matt Upton, Jessica Kirkley, Floyd Upton, Virginia Upton, Joanna Upton and Beulah Upton; his siblings, Oledia Johnson, Paul Upton and Robert Upton; and his pet Pandee. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
