He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Golden Hansel and Mary Elizabeth Hansel (Payne); and his siblings, Benjamin "Bud" Hansel, Alonzo "Squeak" Hansel, James Hansel, Billy Hansel, Nancy Eggers, Brenda Hansel and Martha Hansel.

He is survived by: his wife Darlena Hansel of Mooresville; his children, Norman Hansel (Rita) of Superior, Johnny Hansel (Angie) of Mooresville, Sam Hansel of Mooresville and Angela Kay Doyle of Greenfield; his brother Floyd Hansel (Linda) of London, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Jessica (Bobby), Andrew (Brittany), Shannon, Joseph (Jordyn), Jacob, Joshua, Nathaniel and Matthew; and his great grandchildren, Makaila, Serenity, Bryce, Bentley, Reagan, Gavin, Tristan, Paisley, Beth and Harrison.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harvest House International Church (10089 N Kitchen Rd, Mooresville, IN 46158). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
