He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Johnson and Helen Johnson (Snyder); and his brother Earl Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Susan Johnson (McKillip); his children, Kristine Anne Britt, Eric Johnson (Patricia), Andres Bell (Ryan), Adam Johnson and Kengo Miura (Makiko); his grandchildren, Roth, Zoe, Madalene, Clarissa, Nathaniel, Josephine, Emma, Elise, Lori and Joe; his sister-in-law Susan Johnson; and his niece Kim Recker (Rick). He is also survived by family members, friends, and neighbors.
