He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Conover and Helen Conover (Melson); his daughter Rhonda Sue Newlin; and his brother Glenn Conover. He is survived by: his wife Betty Sawyers; his daughters, Brenda Burton (Roger), Sharon McFarland (Shane Brenner) and Patricia Pletcher (Darryl); and his grandchildren, Justin, Benjamin, Michael, Kelly, Bobby, Richard, Shawntel, Teresa and Julie. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
