He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Nelis and Grace Green Nelis; his wife Susan Penrod Nelis; and his sister Diana Rickett. He is survived by: his nephew Jordan Nelis; his children, Jena Penrod and Benjamin Hardy; his siblings, Thomas "Tom" Nelis (Robin), Charlene Ray (Rick), Michael A. "Tony" Nelis (Terri) and Samantha "Sam" Bowling (Harold); his grandchildren, Jordin Burch and Little Ben; and his great grandchildren, Jaci and Jasper. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and many other devoted family members and friends.
