He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Paul" Pierson and Lucille Pierson (Collins); and his sibling Professor Paul Pierson. He is survived by: his wife Lillian "Lil" Pierson of Mooresville; his sons, Mike Pierson (Donna) of Monrovia and Steve Pierson (Kim) of Mooresville; his grandchildren, Nicholas "Nick" Pierson, Heather Parks, Johnny Pierson and Shelly Compton; and his great grandchildren, Jordan, Navaeh, Parks, Gracie, Aynsley, Cyrus Pierson, Darius, Jaylee, Derrick Compton, Braden and Audrey Pierson.
