It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell E. Shelton Sr. of Monticello, Indiana, born in Albany, Kentucky, who passed away on August 27, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Shelton and Ammajean Shelton (Moles); his daughter Jagett Marie Shelton; his brother Samual Shelton; and his son-in-law Eric P. Akers, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Carol Shelton of Monticello; his children, Russell Shelton, Jr. (Dana) of Delphi, Sheila Scott of Monticello and Veronica Akers of Monticello; his grandchildren, Aaron Shelton, Austin Shelton (Cobra), Kurtis Bowsher, Kayla Bowsher (CJ White), Samantha Campbell (Jess'c), Nichole Tucker (Aaron), Hannah Scott (Adam Carpenter), Devin Scott, Ashley Akers (Travis Foulks) and Eric Akers, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Serenity Akers, Emmorie Akers, Kaylee Foulks, Nolan Shelton, Novah Forkeotes, Oakley White and Paizlee Foulks; his siblings, Faye Funk (John), Bonnie Wright, Brenda Wireman, Jesse Shelton (Cathy), Dennis Shelton and Terry Shelton (Kristie); and his siblings-in-law, Darlene Bolin, Donna Watts, Eddie Medley (Vicki) and Robert Medley, Jr.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
