He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Sue Bernfield; his sons, William Schlimme of Lafayette, IN and Kurt Schlimme (Megan) of Coupeville, WA.; his granddaughter Hazel Schlimme; his siblings-in-law, John Bernfield (Nancy) of Dawsonville, GA and Anna Bernfield of Mooresville, IN; his nieces, Marti Bangs, Kelly Cane (David) of Colorado Springs, CO and Cheryl Hartman of Prescott Valley, AZ; and his close friend John Jones of Sandusky, OH..
