He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. and Mary L. Speer (Nichols); his grandparents, Bertice E., Edith E. Speer (Tuell), Vinyl and Lorene Nichols (Deimer); his aunt Patricia Alpha (Marleen Sheidler-Dalton); and his uncle Charles "Butch" Speer.

He is survived by: his brother John Speer of Remington.

Memorial donations may be given to Diabetes Association.
