With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bertha Mae Brown of Monticello, Indiana, born in Brookston, Indiana, who passed away on September 15, 2023 at the age of 100. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Bertha Mae Brown to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Garrett Hurst and Laura E. Hurst (Brooks); her husband William Leroy Brown; her siblings, Edith G. Flynn and Bernard "Boots" Hurst; her niece Cheryl Vanvoorst; her great-niece Meshelle Robinson Cantu; and her great-nephew Montgomery N. Robinson.

She is survived by: her nieces, Karen S. Finney of McHenry, IL, Norma K. Blount (Don) of Monticello, Linda D. Lindsay of Monticello, Beverly A. Ludvick (David) of Goodland and Marie A. Ward (Stephen) of Monticello; and her nephew Jerry Hurst (Linda) of Brookston. She is also survived by twelve great nieces and nephews; 23 great-great nieces and nephews; nine great- great- great nieces and nephews and one great- great- great- great niece.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church in Monticello.
