He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter O'Brian and Dora O'Brian (Clements); his siblings, Joseph O'Brian, Louise Donaldson and Patricia Norris; and his granddaughter-in-law Amanda Kane.

He is survived by: his wife Carol O'Brian of Montgomery; his daughters, Karen Kane (Tom) of Montgomery, Beth O'Brian of Washington and Jennifer O'Brian of Washington; his grandsons, Eric Kane and Jared Kane (Bethany); his great grandchildren, Ashlyn Kane, Kaleigh Kane, Grant Kane and Lilly Kane; and his brother Patrick O'Brian (Judy) of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
