He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Thieme and Elma Thieme (Etzler); his grandson Tyler Anderson; and his half-brother Virgil Springer. He is survived by: his children, Jason A. Thieme of Decatur, Indiana, Heather Anderson (Mark) of Monroeville, Amber Franz (Darin) of Monroeville and Erin Franz (Ben) of Monroeville, Indiana; his siblings, Anita Miller (Mike A.) of Decatur, Indiana and Floyd Thieme (Jane) of Raleigh; his half-sister Arlene Dudgeon (Clare) of Van Wert, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Robert Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Veronica Franz, Evan Franz, Charlotte Franz, Penelope Franz, Lilly Franz, Haylee Franz, Loralie Franz and Hazel Franz.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the ACCF Kidney Fund or Immanuel Lutheran Church-Renovation Fund.
