He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris C. Schwartz and Susan Schwartz; his brothers, Joe, Amos, Jake, Peter and Sam; and his daughter Anna.
He is survived by: his wife Esther U. Schwartz (Schwartz) of Monroe, IN; his children, Marvin Schwartz (Annie) of Shipshewana, IN, Christie Schwartz (Lizzie) of Bryant, IN, John Schwartz (Rosemary) of Rives Junction, MI, Martin Schwartz (Edna) of Monroe, IN, Irene Shetler (Neil) of Monroe, IN, Marie Schwartz (Clarence) of Decatur, IN and Marlene Wickey (Menno) of LaGrange, IN; and his brother Chris C. Schwartz of Decatur, IN. He is also survived by 54 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren.
