She was predeceased by: her parents, Rolla Athol Thomas and Hallie Christine Thomas (Terrell); her brother Rolla Athol "Buddy" Thomas; and her great grandchild Noah Wintczak. She is survived by: her husband John D. Richards; her family Mam; her aunt Gail; her brother Stephen; her sisters-in-law, Anita Thomas, Nicki Thomas and Linda Richards; her children, Lee Purlee (Brad) of Bedford, IN, Johnny Richards of Scotland, IN, Christy Wintczak (Hank) of Mitchell, IN and David Richards of Scotland, IN; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Hathaway (Chris), Dr. John Purlee, Dr. Ann Herbert (Michael Blum), Dr. Audrey Herbert (Rebecca Evans), Megan Wintczak, Brittany Purlee (Jamie Pitts), Dr. David Wintczak (Jordyn), Hallie Richards, Maddie Richards and Abbie Richards; and her great grandchildren, Kaylee, Jack, Max, Tate Hathaway, Alma Herbert and Baby Blum. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Due to concerns about COVID and the safety of friends and extended family, the service was limited to immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials can be directed to Jacob Finger United Methodist Church.
