He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Arp and Jean Arp (Dillback). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn of Mitchell; his children, Misty Dawn Reed (Clint Cowles) of Orleans, Samuel Clyde Arp II (Sara) and David Joseph Arp (Kim); and his siblings, Ruby Jones (Doug), Shelie Baker (Mike), Sandra Worley (Jim) and Richard Arp (Christina). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
