He was predeceased by: his parents, Brance Allen Melton and Ethel "Essie" Florence Hackney (Thacker); his wife Lora Lee Page; and his brother Paul Melton. He is survived by: his children, Adonica Grissom (Billy) of Mitchell, Philip Jacob Melton (Melissa) of Mitchell, Eli Brance Melton (Hailey Lynn Brazzell) of Campbellsburg, Shirley Gabbard (Weston) of Bedford and Amanda Lynn Little (Jayce) of Bedford; his grandchildren, Josh Grissom, Ethan Grissom, Keeley Goss, Savannah Riddle, Lacey Ryan, Nevin Mundy, Carson Brazzell, Lucas Melton, Miranda Dotts, Jordan Dotts, Shandalyn Asbury, Kodee Campbell and Timothy Little; his brother Cecil Melton of Paoli; and his granddaughter Shianna Marie Dotts. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
