She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Porter and Leona Porter (Skeen); and her siblings, Minnie Terrell, Clarice Craig, Clifford and Wayne Porter.
She is survived by: her husband James Root of Mitchell; her children, David Root (Joni) of Salina, KS, Kathy Kidwell (Charles) of Mitchell, Michael Root (Susan) of Bloomington and Brian Root (Laura) of Bedford; her grandchildren, Joshua Kidwell (Cheyenne), Jerri Root, Lauryn Root, Bryson Root, Madelyn Root and Abigale Root; her great grandchildren, James Kidwell, Alexandria Kidwell and Viktor Kidwell; and her brother Paul Eugene Porter of Bedford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
