It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Eugene Gentry of Mitchell, Indiana, born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, who passed away on January 26, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Woodrow and Dorothy Marie Gentry (Lawson); and his sibling Kaylene Evans. He is survived by: his wife Rose M. Jones of Mitchell; his daughters, Diana Bollhorst of Mitchell, Dawn Briscoe (Howard) of Oolitic, Tonya Higgins (Larry) of Seminole and Toni Blackmore (John) of Newberry; his brothers, Robert Gentry (Lynn) of Live Oak and Ronald Gentry (Mary) of Indianapolis; his sons, Jerry Carter, Danny Carter and Steve Carter; his great grandchild Jacob Whalin; and his siblings, Michael Gentry and Sherry Combs. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren 29 great-grandchildren 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Legion Post No. 250.
