He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd "Bus" Eager and Bonnie Eager (Limeberry); his father-in-law Russell C. Dawes (Margaret Inman White); his brother Michael Eugene Eager; and his niece Amy Mahan.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Dawes Eager; his children, Lt Jonathan Eager and Kathy Shumpert; his sister-in-law Jacqueline Eager of Mitchell; his grandchildren, Dylan Lynch, Collin Riddle, Sophia Eager, Jackson Eager, Ian Shumpert and Ivana Shumpert; his great grandchildren, Prince Shumpert, Pryce Shumpert and Ryder Williams; and his nephews, Gary G. Eager and Marty Eager. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and very special cousins.
